Throughout Maryland's history, the bay and its tributaries
were the roads of travel and commerce. Today
the Chesapeake Bay is both the geographic
and cultural center of the state.

The Blue Crab is a fitting symbol of
the bay and the Blue Crab Site is
designed as a guide for you to
appreciate its history, culture,
environment and recreational
opportunities.
