The Port of Baltimore became the hub of maritime commerce
for the state early in its settlement and remains so today. The
construction of Chesapeake and Delaware Canal( 1824-1829)
through Cecil County linked the Chesapeake Bay with
the Delaware River creatinga short link to and from the
Atlantic which assured Baltimore'scompetiveness as a
modern port today.

The Baltimore Inner Harbor and the attractions around
the port offer the chance to recapture this history and have
a lot of fun.
